Considering how much winter season was stacked up with amazing titles, Spring will have a hard time keeping up with the hype and expectations on the same ground. However, believe it or not, we do have some promising shows this spring as well. 11. Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song

Genre: Sci-Fi, Music

Length: 13 Episodes

Release Date: 3rd April, 2021

Sci-Fi with musical drama-Wit Studio is bringing another original anime series with a uniquely integrated forward-looking concept this spring. Written by Tappei Nagatsuki (Re: Zero) and Umehara Eiji (Chaos; Child VN) the series is directed by Shinpei Ezaki, with Takuma Ebisu, Yūichi Takahashi serving as chief animation director, the characters were designed by loundraw (I want to eat your pancreas, Tsuki ga Kirei) with Yūichi Takahashi adapting them for animation, and Satoru Kōsaki (Bakemonogatari, Beastars, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Nisekoi) is composing the music.

Just add it to your spring list. Judging by the fact we have this big cast and production committee for the show, it almost giving the vibe of blowing up like Wit’s previous project from last year-The Great Pretender.

10. Tokyo Revengers

Genre: Sci-Fi, Music

Length: 13 Episodes

Release Date: 3rd April, 2021

Hold On! Hold On!
I know what you are thinking!

2020 Kodansha Manga Award winner at number 10 !!
Well, hear me out. I read the manga. It’s a good shonen story that has the potential to be the next big hype of 2021, but I’m just not convinced by the fact Liden Films is handling the animation. They already butchered Berserk (2016), Blade of the Immortal (2019), and many other titles in the past.
So I don’t really have any high expectations for it, but who knows it might be their redemption arc this Spring. Also, another good thing is HIGEDAN doing the theme song for the series. At the very least the music for this season will hopefully be of a great standard.

9. Yuukoku no Moriarty 2nd Season (Moriarty the Patriot Season 2)

Genre: Mystery, Historical, Psychological, Shounen

Length: 13 Episodes

Release Date: 28th March, 2021

Who doesn’t love Sherlock Holmes, especially when we have some Moriarty in it ? The psycho manipulative gentlemen always do things in a way that it spices up the whole event in the story.

Moriarty S1 was a blast in fall 2020. Production I.G did an amazing job adapting the show with a brilliant soundtrack and artful cinematography. They beautifully set up the big thing that is going to take place in season 2.

Get ready for another detective ride this spring.

8. Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu Ω (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Ω)

Genre: Harem, Comedy, Magic, Ecchi, Fantasy

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 9th April, 2021

From the point of view of the development of art and arc, it may not be the strongest one in this list, but still How Not To Summon A Demon Lord is like a perfect concoction of fan service cliche and generic story elements that you always wanted.

If you are the type of otaku who don’t really mind the world-building aspect and just want to chill around and have some fun fight scenes and some oppai charm, then this is the anime you might want to add to your spring list.

7. Zombieland Saga Revenge

Genre: Music, Comedy, Supernatural

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 9th April, 2021

MAPPA again!!

Zombieland Saga is one of the if not the best zombie-related comedy musical idol anime series out there.
Great soundtrack, great characters (and character design), great comedy. Amazing voice acting on the part of voice actors especially Mamoru Miyano, Kotaro was just on another level.
Overall if you are looking for mix bag lighthearted quirky comedy with musical idol melodrama then it’s the show for you.

6. Shakunetsu Kabaddi (Burning Kabaddi)

Genre: Sports

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 3rd April, 2021

Coming at number 6, we have Shakunetsu Kabaddi by TMS Entertainment (Akira, Lupin the Third, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple) which I am personally very excited about. It has a certain feel in its Indianness.

Written and illustrated by Hajime Musashino, Shakunetsu Kabaddi is a sports series based on Kabaddi, a South Asian team sport in which players must hold their breath while making raids into the opposing team’s half of the field.

Now for many of you, Kabaddi may seem like an alien sports title as it’s not a commonly known sport in the western community, but it is a very popular game in the Indian subcontinent and other surrounding Asian countries.

So, I am sure it’ll be a whole new amazing experience for many sports anime fans out there. Be sure to add it to your watchlist.

5. Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun 2nd Season (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 2)

Genre: Comedy, Demons, Supernatural, Fantasy, School, Shounen

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 17th April, 2021

Cute at the right time, cool in the right place-
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is the epitome of the refreshing supernatural shounen fantasy of the last decade.

If you’re looking for a laugh, great worldbuilding, and characters mixed with demons and magic, then definitely give this one a shot. It’s by the same studio (Bandai Namco Pictures) who did Gintama°, therefore you can expect excellent comedic timing and dynamics throughout the whole show.

4. Fruits Basket: The Final

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Slice of Life, Supernatural

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 13th March, 2021 ( 1st Episode )

Broadcast Date: 6th April, 2021

Banzai!!

It’s finally happening! Shoujo army where are you!! We are at the end game.

The fact we never had the opportunity to watch the whole story animated in 2004 and now we are here at the final season it almost feels like a dream come true for many oldies otaku like me. It is making me happy and a bit emotional at the same time.
Major props to TMS Entertainment for their consistency and gorgeous animation. Each season has aired in spring; we’ve never had to wait long for more.

“Now my reminiscence aside, is fruits basket worth watching?”
Well obviously. If you love shoujo rom-com or even if you don’t vibe with shoujo that much, it is still worth a watch for every anime fan out there as a heartfelt slice of life drama.

3. Nomad: Megalo Box 2

Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Sports, Drama

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 4th April, 2021

I did not think there was room for a sequel, giving that the story kinda wrapped itself up in the first season, and besides it was an anniversary passion project for legendary series Ashita no Joe.
But if we are getting one, I wanna see where it goes.

The PV looks beautiful and has the old anime vibe to it, hope everything else holds up just as well.

2. Boku no Hero Academia 5th Season (My Hero Academia 5th Season)

Genre: Action, Comedy, Super Power, School, Shounen

Length: Unknown

Release Date: 27th March, 2021

My Hero Academia has been flowing around the radar in the anime industry all these years, it probably does not need any introduction. With season 5 coming out this spring it just proves the point of how much demand we have in the anime community over the show.

However, I hear a lot of manga readers saying, “It’s not that great of an arc this time”, but trust me it will be the best season yet until season 6 comes out and blows all the others away. With a great soundtrack, animation and casts the anime version will be much better than the manga version because it’s an arc that doesn’t move the plot forward but does have interesting fights in it that will keep the talk and hype of every week in spring.

So get ready for some MHA action this spring.
