Komi Can’t Communicate is likely to get an anime adaptation announcement on May 18!

Tomohito Oda’s Coming of Age, Rom-Com manga Komi Can’t Communicate (Komi-san wa, Komyushō desu) is likely to get an anime adaptation announcement on May 18, on the fifth anniversary of the manga. It does not yet have a release date, but an official web domain has been registered.

Currently, you can’t access the site, which is very similar to what happened with the Jojo-portal site , which lead to the announcement for Stone Ocean on April 4, Jonathan Joestar’s birthday.

Story and Publication

Komi-san wa, Komyushō began its serialization in Weekly Shōnen Sunday on May 18, 2016. In English the series has been published as Komi Can’t Communicate by Viz Media since June 11, 2019. They describe the story as:

Timid Tadano is a total wallflower, and that’s just the way he likes it. But all that changes when he finds himself alone in a classroom on the first day of high school with the legendary Komi. He quickly realizes she isn’t aloof—she’s just super awkward. Now he’s made it his mission to help her on her quest to make 100 friends!

As of February 2021, the cumulative circulation of comics, including the electronic version, has exceeded 5.2 million.
The series also ranked first in a 2020 poll conducted by Anime Japan of “Most Wanted Anime Adaptation” where more than 180,000 manga reader cast their vote for their most wanted anime adaptation.
