Vinland Saga 2nd Anniversary Memorial Movie debuted a teaser trailer on Wednesday to announce that Makoto Yukimura‘s epic adventure historical manga Vinland Saga is coming back for a second season. It does not yet have a release date, but based on the data and rumors it’s more likely to hit the market next year.
In addition to the production decision and trailer released on YouTube on July 7, a teaser visual depicting the appearance of Thorfinn letting go of the dagger and comments with illustrations by the original author and staff are released. Cast and Production
The series is being produced again in Wit Studio, while Director Shūhei Yabuta and character designer Takahiko Abiru are also returning for the second season.
The rest of the main staff and cast from the anime series are expected to return to reprise their roles. However, further details are not yet known.
About The Story
The TV anime “Vinland Saga” is based on the manga series of the same name by Makoto Yukimura, which is being serialized in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from April 2005 (the series later got transferred in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon on December 24, 2005). As of 2021, the cumulative circulation of volumes has exceeded 5.5 million, and the latest volume, Volume 25, The Story of a Real Warrior (Saga), which depicts the growth and frustration of the Viking boy Thorfinn, will be released on July 21st.
In 2012, the manga won the 36th Kodansha Manga Award for Best General Manga. It also received the Grand Prize in the manga division of the Japan Media Arts awards in 2009.
