10 Things You Didn’t Know About Naruto

Naruto is a series with millions of fans around the world over and a truly unforgettable amazing cast of characters, soundtracks, and fight scenes. Written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, the manga went on to become one of the biggest media franchise attractions after it was first serialized in Shonen Jump in 1999.

In 2002 the manga got adapted as anime by Studio Pierrot which broadcast 220 episodes up to 2007. Later Naruto Shippuden, a sequel to the original series started premiering in Japan in 2007 and it ended with 500 episodes in 2017.

For most of the time, it often feels like there’s not many much to explore about the series anymore. But is that really true? I don’t think so. Hold on tight let’s take you deeper than ever before in these tidbits trivia ride. Here are 10 things I bet you didn’t know about Naruto.

1. Tobirama is the man responsible for Konoha’s academic, economical, military growth

Tobirama built the village as whole new. He created chunin exams which other villages adopted. He built Konoha Academy which helped the next generations shinobi. He founded Konoha Police which helped keep the villagers safe for years. And despite being the strongest water style user in Narutoverse he is the man responsible for the creation of many jutsus like Shadow Clone, Summoning: Impure world reincarnation, flying thunder god, and many more which next generations hokages and as well as shinobis adopted and molded as their signature Jutsu.

2. Sasuke is stronger than Minato?

After fighting Sasuke, Killer Bee stated that he was the toughest opponent he’s ever faced. And don’t forget Bee fought against the Yellow Flash Minato.

3. Third Hokage is the youngest Hokage in Konoha’s history

Trained under the 1st and 2nd Hokage, Hiruzen was one of the most powerful shinobi in history, so much so that he was admired as the God of Shinobi in his prime. And due to his comprehensive knowledge in all sorts of shinobi combat, techniques within Konoha he was nicknamed as The Professor.

But did you know he was the youngest Hokage in Konoha’s history?

Somewhere around 17 or 18, he was was officially appointed as Hokage by Tobirama Senju during the great ninja war. And not only the youngest he was also the longest-serving Hokage in Konoha.

4. Kishimoto waited a decade to go on his honeymoon

Everyone knows the tale of Naruto Uzumaki but little do we know about all the hard work been put behind by Kishimoto all these years. Being a mangaka is not all about fancy drawing and stuff. It’s insane how grueling most Mangaka work schedules are.

During his days with Naruto, Kishimoto spent almost 20 hours a day writing and illustrating manga. He had to wait 12 years to actually go on honeymoon with his wife in 2015.

5. Sasuke is the only character capable of summoning two different species

Every shinobi has a signature animal summoning. So does Sasuke. But he is the only character in Naruto to have the capability of summoning two animals.

By training under Orochimaru, Sasuke was already capable of summoning snakes from Ryuchi Cave. But as the story progressed in chapter 477 during his fight with Danzo and later in the 4th great shinobi war, Sasuke was shown to have another summon a hawk named Garuda.

6. Gaara dreamt of past in infinite Tsukuyomi

During the 4th great Shinobi war when infinite tsukuyomi was activated by Madara, the entire world was trapped in an illusion shackling them in a dream where their deepest desires are fulfilled. But the saddest part is that the dream they showed, while everyone dreams of a happy future, Gaara is the only one who dreams of a happy past.

7. Hidan is the only Akatsuki member who never met or saw Naruto

Religion freak Hidan is a party trick all by himself by Jashin’s grace. He’s cool crazy and fun to watch, and he really stands out in all demurrage of Naruto world, much like Naruto himself, just doing what he believes in with satiety. But the fun fact out of all Akatsuki, Hidan is the only one who never met or saw Naruto.

8. Rock Lee and Bruce Lee shares same birthday

It was Lee vs Gaara, the fight that got everyone into the series instantly, it was the reference you used when suggesting the show to someone. It’s easily the most iconic fight in Naruto classic. No fancy Jutsu, no demon fox, no Sharingan just hands feet and youth- Leaf’s Blue Beast Rock Lee is a class of his own.

But did you know Kishimoto created Rock Lee based on Bruce Lee? They both share the same birthday same hairstyle even his jumpsuit is reminiscent of Bruce Lee’s yellow one from ‘Re-Enter the Dragon’.

9. Kishimoto modeled Naruto and Sasuke’s friendship after himself and his brother

Masashi and his twin brother Seishi Kishimoto have been drawing manga together since they were kids. And they are both now a household names in the anime manga industry. While Masashi is known for creating Naruto, Seishi is known by 666 Satan, Blazer Drive like popular shonen titles.

During his interview in The Last: Naruto the movie promotions Kishimoto said that the model for Naruto & Sasuke’s friendship is modeled after the one he felt with his brother. Pretty Cool isn’t it?!

10. Ino had the best overall grades

There’s a saying no matter how good you are in school you’re going to end being a side character that nobody cares about.

Starting of Naruto everyone was all over the place over the most talented rookie genius of Uchiha bloodline Sasuke Uchiha. He was best in everything he got top marks in everything. And in all of this talks about Uchiha, there’s one character at the academy who got shadowed under by Uchiha’s name. Well, that’s Ino. According to the first Naruto fanbook, Ino had the best overall grades in the Academy. She had the highest grade in assertiveness and the second-highest grade in ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, cooperation, and class attitude.
