Japanese Craft Bags

First Look at Every Japan Arrival

Limited Kanzashi sets, seasonal Obi arrivals, and rare Geta styles arrive monthly in single or very small quantities. Our WhatsApp community sees every new accessory piece before it reaches the public listing — most sell before they're ever listed.

EVERY ACCESSORY

Finished in Japan. Not Finished to Look Like Japan.

Japanese fashion accessories are among the most replicated objects in global retail. Kanzashi sold on mass-market platforms are injection-moulded. Obi belts are printed on synthetic fabric and sold as traditional. Zori sandals are produced in factories that have never seen a tatami floor. Every piece in the IAN Accessories Edit is sourced from Japan — made by craftspeople working in the traditions these objects come from. The difference is in the weight of a Geta, the hand-stitching of a Kanzashi base, the weave density of an Obi. You will feel it immediately.

How to Wear Japanese Accessories — Without Getting It Wrong

Obi & Cords:

The Obi doesn’t require a formal Kimono. A wide Obi belt worn over a plain linen dress or a simple summer outfit creates an immediate Japanese aesthetic without full traditional dress. We guide every buyer through styling on WhatsApp before their piece arrives.

Kanzashi

Kanzashi are worn above the ear on the left side traditionally — but contemporary Japanese fashion wears them anywhere. A single Kanzashi in a low bun or a braid is the most understated way to carry Japanese craft in daily life.

Zori & Geta

Zori are worn with Tabi socks for formal occasions. Geta are worn barefoot for casual summer wear. Both require a slight adaptation in walking pace — a slower, more deliberate step that the footwear itself teaches you.

Every IAN accessories purchase includes a personal WhatsApp styling note from our team — how to wear it, how to care for it, and what it pairs with in our collection.
